Beyond 2000
April 2001
The most significant success in development of the Company production potential during last years was the enlargement of the Melamine Production Unit. The decision to build up the production potential of melamine was made due to the dynamic increase of national and international demand for the product. In May 1999 the second Production Unit called „Melamine II” started its construction. The project was one of the biggest in Polish chemical sector at that time. The technology used for the project realization was based on the high pressure technology licensed by an Italian Company "Eurotecnica Contractors and Engineers S.A.". The planned volume of production was set on 30,000 ton/year. After its start on the 5th of April 2001 – Zakłady Azotowe “Pulawy” S.A. with annual production capacity of 62,000 ton, became the third melamine producer in the world.
June 2004
The success of launching „Melamine II” and still absorptive market influenced decision of building the third Melamine Production Unit, which would expand production volume for another 30,000 ton/year. On the 24th of October 2002 the erection act was built in „Melamine III” Production Unit. This project was again realized in cooperation with "Eurotecnica". In June 2004 the installation was officially launched. As a result, with volume of melamine production of 92,000 ton/year, "Pulawy" obtained 10% of the world market and 20% of the European market in the sector.
